SST Supervisor Renewal Course Overview:

The SST Supervisor Renewal Program is an online course bundle created to meet the training and certification standards established by the New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB). This all-inclusive package consists of four vital courses: the NYC DOB 8-Hour Fall Prevention Course, the NYC DOB 4-Hour Supported Scaffold Course, the NYC DOB 2-Hour Pre-Task Meetings Course, and the NYC DOB 2-Hour Toolbox Talks Course. Successfully completing this package makes you eligible to renew your 62-Hour SST Worker Card.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Local Law 196 required of workers at job sites that must designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.

That is correct Temporary SST, Limited SST and SST Cards have been extended to March 2021. This does not apply to SST Supervisory cards.

Yes, SST supervisory cards are required to be present on-site.

OSHA Cards do not expire. Per LL196 these cards need to be refreshed if older than 5 years old, in order to obtain an SST Card. Once a SST Card is issued, you need not refresh the OSHA card again.

The PE can perform as an SSM as long as they have the SSM certification along with an SST Supervisory Card. All workers at a job site are required to have OSHA education.

New York State General Business Law Article 7-A, section 89-n, provides for various exemptions of security guard training requirements based on employment and completed Municipal Police Training Council approved law enforcement training. A CS would be able to designate a Competent Person (who has an SST Supervisory Card) and indicate it in the logbook.
