Learning Outcomes

  • Remember: Identify construction safety responsibilities and the fall, struck-by, caught-in/between, electrical, fire and structural hazards associated with site activities.
  • Understand: Explain how NYC Chapter 33 and OSHA requirements guide site safeguards, safety plans, inspections and records to protect workers and the public.
  • Select / Determine: Select the required safeguards and reporting route in written construction examples, and determine when changed site conditions require review by authorized personnel.
  • Analyze: Distinguish emergency notification, unsafe-condition reporting, DOB incident reporting and DOI corruption reporting, and differentiate SST course completion from equipment qualifications and professional licensing.
Course Need / Needs Analysis

NYC construction personnel need current knowledge of site-safety responsibilities, Chapter 33 safeguards, applicable OSHA construction requirements, public and adjoining-property protection, incident reporting, and emergency communication. This English SAF-203 learning event updates the 2019 reference curriculum for SST purposes and distinguishes SST credit from Site Safety Manager licensing or renewal.

Target Audience

Construction workers and supervisors seeking the prescribed eight-hour Site Safety component of NYC Site Safety Training. This course is SST only and does not satisfy Site Safety Manager license qualification or renewal training.

Remediation / Reassessment

Learners who do not meet the required final-exam standard receive targeted review or remediation on deficient content areas and may complete an authorized reassessment or reattempt in accordance with the course and regulatory policy.

Successful Completion Requirements

Complete all eight hours (480 minutes) of required instruction, satisfy the approved online identity and participation controls, and achieve at least 70% on the final written multiple-choice assessment.
